Dick Clark Honored At Memorial By
Cast of Stars

Star Pulse
May 7, 2012

Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Fergie and Paul Stanley were among the stars who turned out to honour TV legend Dick Clark at a memorial service at his home in California last week.

The beloved entertainer passed away last month at the age of 82 after suffering a heart attack, and a host of famous faces turned out to remember Clark at a private tribute in the grounds of his Malibu mansion last Thursday.

More than three hundred friends and colleagues attended the service, including KISS bandmates Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, Reba McEntire, Fergie and her husband Josh Duhamel, Marie Osmond, Paul Anka and Debbie Gibson.

Talk show legend Larry King gave a eulogy at the service, while Wonder and Anka sang for the crowd.

Osmond, who also spoke at the memorial, shared her experience with fans by posting a picture of herself posing with Lionel Richie and singer Chubby Checker on Facebook.com, writing, "So grateful to be able to celebrate Dick Clark's life and say a few words at his memorial service this afternoon. Especially amazing to reconnect with other Dick Clark proteges like Chubby and Lionel. He did great work on this earth!"

Simmons also wrote about the event online and posted a picture of himself and Stanley posing in their KISS costumes with Clark.

He writes, "The family of Dick Clark invited us to attend the Dick Clark Memorial. He was a good man. Always offered a kind word. The event was kept a secret, and no cameras were allowed... The powerful and attractive Paul Stanley and his beautiful wife Erin were also there. Larry King got up to say a few words, as did Marie Osmond... and we saw Frankie Valli of the Four Seasons wishing everyone well.

"We walked over to a wall where artists had signed photos of themselves posing with Dick Clark. There were about 30 photos. You would recognise every single one of them. Spanning decades. And there, up towards the top, was a photo of Dick with Paul and myself. We were blessed to have known him. I have learned humility from a man who never wavered from offering a kind word."
